You can use a 6000,or 7000 modem to trouble shoot even if you are using a 7000s. However you will not be able to go on line if you have commissioned a 7000s.
You may "exchange/replace a like modem by going through registration installer.
Look at your system information page and see if Hughs has changed the satellite or the frequency. They don't tell you if they do.
