No, I guess I misunderstood what was going on. The bad modem will see only
a power light and then all lights will blink and return to power only. This
happens over and over again.
Since you are now accessing the modem then you are half way there but the
TX10 is very bad. I would suggest that you check your cabling (new ends or
new cables or swap TX and RX) as TX10 indicates a problem with your
transmissions (modem, transmitter or modem power supply). You can try
pointing toward another satellite (117W, 1070, V, H is my favorite) to see
if you get the same result. Check the voltages on your power supply as well
as I have come upon several bad ones recently.

Bill: Thanks for your response. Update now: modem power & LAN lights
will go on even with rx & tx cables attached. Flashing lights only occur
once when first powered on, not even 15 seconds. When I access the modem
advanced/setup pages, I do get as far as 'display signal strength' but
the ss number remains at 15.
We've been setting up the Hughes dish for 4.5 yrs now, although until
our recent switch to 83, it's been on 117.
Does this still sound like the modem is bad?
