That is correct, but always assumes that you are pointing at an active transponder. For example if you had a config file that was even two weeks old and chose 117/990 you would not have gotten a signal. Terry's latest posted one is 7/16/09, and it correctly has 117/981 listed.

That config file is never updated automatically, only by you getting a later copy and uploading it to your modem.
