OK. That's where we're headed ....cable shopping & cable making.
Now, using the new RS cables we bought yesterday, no 'additions' between
LNB to modem, except OPI, another new episode.
Got inital ss of only 38, but completed Reg-Inst again (that initial
setup screen was odd looking) all the way through. Power light stopped
flashing & is steady. It took a long time (25") to
download/reload/
Status: Commissioned. Status page, it showed ss = 45, 30, 50, 30, 47,
30. Rx code flashes from 5 to 7 (unknown network); Tx codes from 8 to 6
(receive problem) to ?# (ranging). (All these details are just for
future searchers looking for help.)
Power cycled the modem again & got ss= 55, green light & now surfing for
the past 19".
It may be too early to tell for sure, but it appears the tx cable from
the LNB (radio?) was the culprit. Since all cables are about 4.5 yrs
old, we'll replace all of them.
THANK YOU!!! You're the best!
Gail
PS: The End. Insert emoticon for "Crossed Fingers".
