First, Hughes will not move you to another satellite just because you ask.
You are assigned to one satellite and that's that.
You can contact a Hughes dealer and have them request a satellite change
telling Hughes that your current satellite is now blocked and currently
unusable (you know, lie!).
Second, there is NO 'faster satellite'. A satellite change may or may not
improve your speeds, but it rarely hurts. If you have a 7000S (not just a
7000) then you could move to the Pro Plus plan which "in theory" should give
you better speeds. The overall experience of Pro Plus users is mostly mixed
with a few seeing better speeds but most not seeing any improvement and a
few seeing slower speeds.

I have been lurking on this group for some time now and have enjoyed
reading about how the Hughes net system can be good and bad for people.
We have a system we bought at Quartzite a couple of years ago and have
never had a problem with it. We move from Idaho to Arizona and back to
Idaho in the spring. I usually don't have any problems getting back
online after one of these moves. We are assigned to Horizon 127 and it
seems to work OK. We have noticed that things seem to be slowing down
over the last week or so. I have been thinking about calling Hughes net
and seeing if I can get on a "faster" satellite if there is one
available for our area of travel. The other question I have is would
upgrading to a large plan do any good? We are currently on the "Pro"
plan and we are wondering if going to a higher plan (more money of
course) will do any good. Thanks for a great group, I get lots of
trouble shooting info from all your posts here.
